Credit Card Industry growth decrease Being a 5% -7%: http://www.lppi.or.id/index.php/module/Blog/sub/9/id/pertumbuhan-industri-kartu-kredit-turun-menjadi-5-7/19 May 2011 Bank Indonesia estimates that the credit card industry growth will decrease from an average growth of 10% -15% per annum to 5% -7% this year. On that case is triggered by the central bank sanctions to Citibank NA Indonesia in the form of suspension of new customer acquisition.
This year is an opportunity for the credit card issuer to redefine the business growth. This incident was a turning point for managing the credit card industry with a more cautious and wise.
Due to Crisis, Credit Card Issuers are More Strict in Selecting New Customers: www.matabumi.com, 9 December 2008 The global financial crisis has affected the credit card business in Indonesia. The Indonesian Credit Card Association (AKKI) predicted that credit card issuers would begin to decrease new client expansion and become stricter in collecting fees. Per July 2008, AKKI’s 21 members have issues 10.7 million credit cards. The total transaction value for 2008 rose by 17 percent compared to the previous year. Per July 2008, the total credit card billing value was Rp.59 trillion.
