The existence of private hospitals are expected to increase 5% -10% next year. However, most likely growth will only occur to the category of public hospitals.
Director General of Health Efforts Kemenkes Akmal Taher said that in recent years the growth of private hospitals around 5% annually. While not yet realized is equalization hospitals throughout Indonesia.
"In the last 10 years is increasing. But for the next year we expect growth of at least 5% -10%. Private interests are only public hospital, "said Akmal to Business, Friday (12/09/2014)
Akmal admitted, the government requires the participation of the private sector in providing health services to the people of Indonesia, especially in eastern Indonesia. "Gradually, the private sector has begun willing to set up in remote areas," he added.
Ministry of Health data show that the number of private hospitals registered by January 1, 2014 to as many as 455 public hospitals and 246 for special hospitals, general hospitals of private non provit 531 specialty hospitals and non provit totaled 202.
The amount is increased when compared to previous years, in which private hospitals 300 general category and special category as many as 168. The non provit private hospitals to public hospitals category as much as 515 and as many as 212 special category.
