Kampar Regent H Azis Zaenal SH MM was accompanied by Head of Fisheries Department of Kampar Usman Amin and entourage visited Arwana Fish Farming in Rumbai Pekanbaru District, Friday, August 11, 2017 to see the real way of cultivation of arowana fish and its marketing techniques. Azis Zaenal said that if any Kampar people are interested to cultivate arowana fish, Kampar district government will support. According to him, the cultivation of Arwana fish if done professionally is very profitable and can absorb labor as well as can reduce unemployment rate in Kampar regency.

In the middle of the high demand for freshwater fish consumption in Pasar Ikan Minaaji Ajibarang, it turns out the supply of fish from the local level have not fulfilled. As a result, about 70 percent of freshwater fish consumption should be drawn from Cianjur. The supply of fresh water fish from the local most only about 30 percent; whereas the average daily supply of fish needed to traders in Ajibarang reach a ton.
