Starting the 2024 Planting Season, Perum Perhutani plans to plant 24.4 million trees on 26 thousand hectares of land divided into three Perhutani Regional Division areas. This year, Perhutani has prepared various types of tree seedlings including Teak, Pine, Balsa, Eucalyptus, Sengon, Mahogany and various multipurpose tree species (MPTS).
Perhutani Corporate Secretary Sofiudin Nurmansyah explained that Perhutani is committed to carrying out planting to conserve forests, expand land cover, maintain the function of water catchment areas and empower communities around forests. "This year we (Perhutani) will again carry out planting according to the company's work plan, carrying out Perhutani's function as a BUMN managing forests. By planting 24.4 million trees on 26 thousand hectares of land, we hope to increase green land cover and provide benefits to the surrounding community," said Sofi.
