Secretary General of the Alliance of Entrepreneurs of Alcoholic Beverages Indonesia, Kwendy Alexander supports the government's plan to create a comprehensive regulation in the field of alcoholic beverage industry and should be issued at the central level and become "a national umbrella". The study mentions the consumption of alcoholic beverages by a resident of Indonesia in 2014 only 0.2%, the lowest compared to other beverage products. If you look at the data, the level of consumption of alcoholic beverages in Indonesia are among the lowest in the world, even when compared to Malaysia. Data from WHO (2010) mention the consumption of alcoholic beverages in Indonesia is 0.6 liters of pure alcohol per capita per year.

The oleochemical plant which is a joint venture between Sinar Mas and CEPSA is ready to operate. Has investment value reached Rp2, 8 trillion, located in Nerbit Kecil Village, Lubuk Gaung, Dumai, Riau. This was conveyed by Sinar Mas Managing Director G. Sulistyanto when he met Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto at the Office of the Ministry of Industry, Jakarta (5/9/2017).

This factory will produce fatty alcohol, which is used for cosmetic production, daily care products, toothpaste, and detergent. The company's production capacity reaches 160,000 tons per year by producing high quality products. The process is supported by sustainable palm oil feedstock with the latest technology to serve the demand of Asian, European and Middle East markets.

Sulistyanto also said that the factory's more value is not only in its production capacity but also in the use of the latest technology that can significantly reduce energy consumption, raw materials and natural resources. The existence of the factory is expected to increase the potential of Indonesia's forest-based industries and be able to operate sustainably. In addition, the government also continues to make efforts to improve the competitiveness of national industries by issuing strategic policies that can strengthen its sector structure.
