Sumalindo Lestari Receives 4 Certificates Bisnis Indonesia, page T2 (3-March-2006) PT Sumalindo Lestari Jaya Tbk received four certificates for the management of its conserved forest from three different institutions in the forestry industry. The four certificates were each given Smartwood in the form of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM), The Management of Preserved Natural Forest (PHAPL) from the Indonesian Ecolabeling Foundation, and Islamic Defense Soldiers appointed by the Ministry of Forestry, plus a gold certificate of forest management from East Borneo’s regional government.
Sumalindo to Optimize Industrial Plant Forest Bisnis Indonesia, page T5 (1-March-2006) PT Sumalindo Lestari Jaya Tbk. is optimizing the usage of industrial plant forest as the source of lumber this year. The company is currently minimizing its dependency upon natural forest and is, instead, turning to industrial plant forest. With the industrial forest, log production can increase 20 times. Thus, its effect may include improvements in export performance for 2006. Last year, export figure stood at US$ 60 billion.
