Throughout 2022 the Hotel Business in Jakarta Continues to grow: https://propertiindonesia.id/post/sepanjang-tahun-2022-bisnis-hotel-di-jakarta-terus-bertumbuh/27 December 2022
Property consultant Colliers Indonesia in its latest Radar Report stated that the hotel business in Jakarta has shown an increasing trend since early 2022 both in terms of the average occupancy rate and the daily rental rate. Until the third quarter of 2022, Jakarta has a total of 223 hotels with coverage of 44,696 rooms. This number is dominated by three-star hotels. The majority of hotels are located in Central Jakarta and South Jakarta, where these areas are commercial areas that support various businesses and commerce in Jakarta. Then in the TB Simatupang area which has direct access to the Tangerang area so it is easy to reach from the airport.
Colliers Indonesia Senior Associate Director, Ferry Salanto said the positive trend in the hotel business this year was contributed by Meeting, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibition (MICE) activities. During this quarter, the hotel occupancy rate in Jakarta increased by around 40 percent when there was an event near the location compared to normal days.

Vice Chairman of Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association Sudrajat said, the level of tourist visits both foreign and domestic increased in 2016 to 2017. However, the level of occupancy of the hotel actually decreased. This is because the hotel is being oversupply and due to budget cuts of meetings and seminars by ministries to institutions or companies. Occupancy at that period averaged 45-50%.
Now more and more new hotels are emerging. But this growth is not comparable with the addition of fewer tourist increases. The growth of this hotel is done by many companies originally engaged in construction, pharmaceutical companies and airline services such as PT PP Property, Kimia Farma, Angkasa Pura and others who helped develop the hotel business. This is compounded by the lack of aviation for foreign tourists. Although foreign tourists are influential, but the lack of flights from their home countries can have no impact on visits.
