Petrokimia Ensure availability of Subsidized Fertilizer in East Java,, 19 April 2012

PT. Petrokimia Gresik (PKG) ensure the availability of subsidized fertilizer, for East Java region in April this season, is safe. For the sake of the growing season from April to May, the state set up 716 950 tonnes of fertilizer was subsidized fertilizer.

The success of PT. Petrokimia Gresik (PKG), in running the program based Movement Increased Food Production Corporation (GP3K) in the year 2011, making the government back to the larger delegate to the PKG in the year. Of the total target given to PT. Pupuk Indonesia, which is a state-owned holding fertilizer, totaling 200 050hectares (ha), PKG had the most extensive task that is 70 050 ha compared with other fertilizer company under PT. Pupuk Indonesia.

The Indonesian government must protect the agricultural sector during the implementation of free trade agreements the countries of Southeast Asia (AFTA-ASEAN Free Trade Area), which entered into force January 1, 2010.

Indonesian government should have the bargaining power in multilateral agreements when free trade agreement is applied. Various effort must be made by the government in the free trade deal with Southeast Asia, such as to protect against a number of products and change the behavior of economic players in the country.

In free trade, countries with low level of production efficiency could not compete with countries with high level of production efficiency.
