Furniture industry slumped, Entrepreneur promote Exhibition,, 12 July 2011

The Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industries (Asmindo) said the Indonesian furniture industry is currently in decline. This condition is influenced by macro economic conditions. First, U.S. and European economies slow-down and slow impact on the purchasing power of importers.

Indonesia's exports to the U.S., which was originally 30 percent of total exports, fell by 20 percent. Similarly, exports to Europe fell by 20 percent to 10 percent. To counter this decline, Asmindo is holding a promotion to feature their furniture. The event will be dubbed "International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia".
Ace Hardware Opens the Largest Outlets in Indonesia: February 2011

Ace Hardware is opening its largest outlet in Indonesia with an area of 15,000 m2 in Alam Sutera, Tangerang, Banten, with an investment of about Rp.100 billion. It will provide 75 thousand kinds of house wares products. In contrast to the outlets that already exist; this outlet hopes to achieve an annual sales target of Rp.2 trillion.
