DuPont Will Increase the Price of Powder Coatings

PT DuPont Powder Coatings Indonesia (DPCI) plans to increase the price of powder coatings by 8% to 15% due to rocketing production cost by 100%. The rising price of world oil, which reached US$ 60 per barrel, caused the price of raw materials to double. Furthermore, the raw materials must be imported from Europe, United States, Taiwan and Malaysia. For the company, raising the price comes as the only option. Currently, the license holder of the Alesta brand sets the price of powder coatings at Rp 30,000 to Rp 40,000 per kilograms.
