The House of Representatives (DPR) included the Veterinary Education and Services Bill in the 2025-2029 National Legislation Program. The urgency of this legislation lies in supporting President Prabowo's government's program of providing nutritious meals and free milk.
In the list of proposed bills, the Veterinary Education and Services Bill is ranked ninth out of 11 bills to be deliberated by Commission X of the DPR during the 2025-2029 term.

The Animal Health Center or Puskeswan is the spearhead of animal health services at the sub-district level and has functions including carrying out animal health and emergency preparedness for animal disease outbreaks.
According to the Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Nasrullah, currently there are 1,691 Puskeswan units spread throughout Indonesia with a total of 971 Veterinarians and 1041 Veterinary Paramedics.
"We hope that these resources will be able to provide optimal animal health services to improve the quality of animal and livestock health so as to support the welfare of breeders. So let's go to the Puskeswan," he said in Jakarta, Thursday, 10/28.
Nasrullah also emphasized the important role of Puskeswan in controlling and controlling animal diseases in their respective work areas. This role, in addition to increasing animal productivity, also protects people from diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans.
