The entry of a new airline, BBN Airlines, into the national aviation industry has become a concern amidst the dominance of two large airline groups that control around 90% of the domestic market. According to Independent Analyst of National Aviation Business, Gatot Rahardjo, the presence of BBN Airlines will not immediately change the competitive landscape, but offers an opportunity to increase business dynamics in the aviation sector.

"With a fleet that is still limited, BBN Airlines will not have too much influence on overall competition. However, the domestic aviation market is actually still open, considering that in 2023 the number of domestic passengers will only reach 83% of the 2019 figure," Gatot told KONTAN, Monday (11/18).

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Airlangga Hartarto explained, the domestic aviation industry continues to grow and experience significant growth. This is indicated by the increase in the amount of air traffic, both passengers and the flow of goods.

"The growth of domestic air passengers increased by an average of 15 percent per year over the past 10 years," Airlangga said in the Ministry of Industry, Jakarta (18/10/2016). The rapid development and growth of aviation industry in Indonesia will open up opportunities for aircraft industry, aircraft components and MRO in Indonesia
