Global Rubber Market Will Change in 2025, Indonesia will be most affected: https://mediaperkebunan.id/pasar-karet-global-bakal-berubah-pada-2025-indonesia-paling-kena-imbas/22 December 2024

The rubber market in the global market in 2025 is predicted to change, especially from the producer countries. Then, the prediction of the change is feared to actually affect Indonesia's position as the world's number two rubber producer.

Indonesia's position, which has so far been ranked second, could be shifted by other countries. This is because Indonesia's natural rubber production continues to decline due to low productivity and reduced land area due to conversion. On the other hand, it can be seen that production in several other producer countries tends to increase, for example in Vietnam, China, and Ivory Coast.

The Ministry of Industry continues to encourage the development of the rubber processing industry to make it more productive, innovative and competitive. This strategic step through downstream is believed to be able to optimize the absorption of rubber commodities in the country, as well as increase the added value, which will lead to national economic growth.

"Rubber commodity has an important role in the national economy. Moreover, Indonesia is the second largest natural rubber producer in the world, with a rubber plantation area of 3.6 million hectares and production reaching 3.03 million tons in 2021," said Director General of Agro Industry, Putu Juli Ardika in Jakarta, Sunday (18 /12).
