President Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor Johnny Darmawan, the Chief Corporate Communication Astra International Aminuddin and Dean of Jakarta State University’s Engineering Faculty Basuki Wibowo examined the Toyota K7 machine used for student experiments. Toyota Astra Motor recently donated 2 Toyota K7 machine units and Rp 4.35 billion in scholarships to numerous educational institutions.

Toyota’s Sales Plummet

The sales of Toyota vehicles for the first term of 2006 dropped 22.3 percent compared to the same period in 2005. For the first four months of 2006, Toyota sold 34,476 units of cars. The decline in sales is influenced price fluctuation of world oil and also rising price of fuel in Indonesia. In addition, income drop in the middle to lower class consumers also caused declining sales.
