The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education has stopped the operation of 25 private universities throughout Indonesia because it does not meet the requirements of university establishment. "A total of 127 universities that we are currently doing (assessment), as many as 25 private universities of which we have stopped," said Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education M Nasir in Bandung, Sunday.

The closure, according to him, was done based on the assessment of several factors such as the management of universities, the number of students, and the implementation of campus operations.

Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) finally shut down 103 of 243 Private Universities (PTS) is problematic. Previously, those campuses into the list of PTS status in coaching.

"Most PTS was closed at the request of the owner, because there is no management," said Menristekdikti, Mohammad Nasir after meeting with hundreds PTS coaching status, in Jakarta, Tuesday (22/2).

Other coaching status campus, said Nasir, closed on the recommendation Kopertis in their respective territories. Because the results showed the college visitation does not meet the minimum requirements under applicable regulations. A total of 243 PTS assigned the status of coaching in 2015. Currently, there are already 104 PTS is reactivated. A total of 103 PTS closed, and stayed 21 PTS in coaching status.
