President-elect Joko Widodo revealed the position of deputy minister in nearly all ministries will be abolished. Nevertheless, the proposed elimination of the position of deputy minister in some ministries are not final and are still in the process of further discussion.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) encourages sports to be a national priority in the hope that there are no more obstacles that directly impact on the performance of athletes who descend on the international scene. This was conveyed by Menpora Imam Nahrawi.

To make sport as a priority, first have to do a thorough evaluation on Indonesian sports stakeholders ranging from Satlak Prima, KONI, Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) to internal Kemenpora itself. Evaluation of SEA Games 2017 results are very important because it will serve as the basis for facing the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang.

To that end, his part invites stakeholder of Indonesian sport to immediately prepare and determine the priority sports that are expected to contribute medals for Indonesia.
