The judicial review of Law No. 30 of 2009 on Electricity petitioned Central Board of Trade Unions of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is granted in part by the Constitutional Court (MK).

Such decision confirms the practice of unbundling in electricity supply business to the public interest contrary to the Constitution if eliminating state control in accordance with the principle of "controlled by the state". Electric power supply by the private sector was not justified without the principle of "controlled by the state".

This is according to the Petitioner, is a repetition of the provisions of Law No. 20/2002 on Electricity which had been canceled by the Constitutional Court Decision on Case No. 001-021-022 / PUU-I / 2003. The provisions of the Electricity Law could cause electricity rates would be expensive and PT PLN as one of the electricity business license holder status is no longer having control electricity business for public services, but for commercial use.

PT PLN (Persero) is reviewing the idea of reduction in electricity rates for labor-intensive industries. It was said director of PT PLN (Persero), Sofyan Basir to save the industry in the country amid the economic downturn.

Sofyan Basir told reporters after attending a meeting in the office of the Vice President, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (20/15/2015), said many labor-intensive industries troubled current economic conditions make the cost of production rises.
