PT Polytama Propindo targets to increase polypropylene production capacity to 300,000 tons per year by 2019 from the previous 240,000 tons. To increase production capacity, the company spent US $ 10 million. In addition to expanding the plant, Polytama is also preparing a plan to establish a new factory, namely Polytama II, which is planned to be completed by 2020 or 2022.

PT. Asahimas Chemical (ASC) invested $ 400 million to increase production capacity in order to meet the growing demand for products such as Caustic Soda Chlorine Alkali and Vinyl Chloride in the Southeast Asian region. With the increase in the production capacity of ASC, based in Indonesia can respond to the high demand for domestic needs and the Southeast Asian region to build optimal supply system that can meet the needs of the market.
As is known, the ASC is a subsidiary of AGC (Asahi Glass Company, Japan) in Indonesia as one of the largest producers of Chlorine Alkali in Southeast Asia, which implement an integrated production of Vinyl Chloride Caustic Soda up.
President Director of PT. Asahimas Chemical June Miyazaki said demand for chlor alkali products is expected to increase by 5% per year in Southeast Asia, where the state of the economy is projected to continue to grow. In 2020, the market scale for the products in this region is expected to increase by 50% from current levels. In particular, the state of the market and Vinyl Chloride Caustic Soda in Indonesia, is the largest market in the region and is expected to grow faster than the average rate of growth in the region.
