PT. Pindad (Persero) managed to convince three manufacturers of weapons and combat equipment from Europe to make Indonesia a production base. During the next five years, will be a partner Pindad production and marketing of weapons and combat equipment of the three companies in the region.
Widja Widjajanto, Director of Change Management PINDAD mentioned three companies are Cockerill Maintenance & Ingenierie (CMI Defense) Belgian famous as a manufacturer of turret (weapons systems) for armored; SAAB Dynamics AB from Sweden who focus on producing missiles; and Rheinmetall Land Systems (RLS) from Germany, known as the company's maintenance and repair combat equipment in Europe.

PT Pindad (Persero) is ready to mass-produce medium tank next year. President Director of PT Pindad Abraham Mose said PT Pindad has received orders of 100 units to meet the needs of the TNI.
Abraham said, to meet the needs of the TNI, actually required as many as 300 units of medium tanks. But for the first phase is estimated, it is only able to prepare as many as 100 units are done for two years. Currently, his side with NFSS Turkey is completing the first manufacture of a second prototype medium tank. The prototype will undergo a series of tests, one of which is an explosive test. So, the prototype is absolutely perfect. Because the medium tank is still a prototype, PT Pindad and NFSS can not claim each other when the medium tank is the result of his work. But, is the result of mutual development.
However, after entering the production year, PT Pindad has the right to sell and do mass production and NFSS can no longer claim it is their work. Indonesia has the right to produce serial products and sell them.
