To support the protection and restoration of a million hectares of forest land in Indonesia, Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) announced that its commitment to be accepted in the Bonn Challenge. With this, the APP became the first private company and the only one whose commitment received in Bonn Challenge. The global initiative aims to restore 150 million hectares of degraded land in 2020, and at least 350 million hectares in 2030. The company's commitment announced at the Global Forest and Climate Change Programme which was organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in the event the COP21 (Conference of Parties 21st) in Paris. India, Mexico and Pakistan also announced its commitment to protecting its forests in this forum. Today, more than half the target has been reached Bonn Challenge, with dozens commitment to restoration efforts globally.

Each year the Department of Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Center of Papua's forests provide seed plant 150-200 trees which will be distributed free of charge to the general public, both youth organizations, religious, mosque or NGOs who need seed. Prepared tree seedlings adapted to the public interest. In Papua chose more existing trees matoa benefits such as trees and eucalyptus trees.
