President Director of PT. Madu Scout, Wawan Darmawan said, may be the world's main exporter of honey.
Because, he said, Indonesia has the potential to produce up to 2.5 tons of honey. If exported can bring sizeable foreign exchange up to Rp.32 billion.
He said he regretted beekeeping in Indonesia is still minimal so the production is limited.
"We deplore the production of honey bee culture in Indonesia is still low. Of the honey that is sold, partially derived from honey producing countries such as Australia, Thailand, and Argentina," said Henry in Depok, on Tuesday (09/16/2014).
In fact, he said, a lot of potential that can be used to increase the production of honey to meet the needs of the people of Indonesia. According to him, currently lacking land use to maximize honey production.

In Indonesia, the need for high silk thread is 900 tons of silk thread or 7,200 tons per year. In Bali alone it needs 3-4 tons. But until now the needs of silk threads in Bali can only be fulfilled half of which is 1.2 tons - 1.5 tons.
Thus disclosed the Coordinator of Nature of Bali, Tri Edy Mursabda, Monday (4/9). One spun cocoon produces 1,200 meters of filament fiber. That is the thread of silk. "Demand is not enough to meet demand because of limited raw materials, we own the lack of raw materials," he said.
