PT Polytama Propindo targets to increase polypropylene production capacity to 300,000 tons per year by 2019 from the previous 240,000 tons. To increase production capacity, the company spent US $ 10 million. In addition to expanding the plant, Polytama is also preparing a plan to establish a new factory, namely Polytama II, which is planned to be completed by 2020 or 2022.

The increase in raw material prices which is projected to continue until Q1-2022 is still a challenge for the recovery of the chemical industry. Chairman of the Association for Basic Inorganic Chemicals (Akida), Michael Susanto, said that the 30-100% increase in raw material prices is very burdensome for the upstream sector of the chemical industry because it increases production costs by 30-50 percent.
