Inhutani’s Cooperation Reinvestigated

The cooperation of state owned companies in forestry, such as Inhutani, will be reinvestigated because losses keep persisting and no development has been seen. Meanwhile, PT Intracawood’s forestry licence still has not been revoked. Intracawood is suspected to cause problems for Inhutani because it is believed to have taken away Inhutani’s Forest Management Licence.

PT Inhutani I was not forwarded the forest management permit letter given to PT Intracawood Manufacturing by the Minister of Forestry (Minister’s Decree No. 335/Menhut-II/2004) although it holds 25 percent of Intracawood’s shares. It assumed that a mistake was made, especially because the area Intracawood managed is still run by Inhutani I. Not to forget, Inhutani’s permit to manage the area has yet to be revoked. Inhutani is currently asking to have its rights reinstated.
